Here are a few different options for cooking with our sauce.
1. Mix one jar of Meaza’s Berbere Spicy Sauce, one cup of red lentils, and five cups of water. Cook over medium heat for 25-30 minutes or until the lentils are done.
2. Mix one jar of our Berbere Spicy Sauce, 1 lb of meat, and 3 cups of water in a medium pot. Tofu, tempeh, and soy curls are some of the perfect alternatives to meat that go exceptionally well with the sauce. Cook over medium heat for 25-30 minutes or until meat is tender.
Add salt for taste.

Berbere is a fiery hot spice blend that contains up to 16 constituent elements. Berbere is a ubiquitous spice blend that has been at the heart and soul of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine for millennia. Moreover, it is an all-purpose blend that can be used in numerous dishes, not unlike a curry.
